REVIEW: Lisbeth Dahl 4 Flounce Parasol/Umbrella in Cream

In the UK, you should probably prepare yourself for a bit of abuse for carrying around an umbrella or parasol if it's not raining. Heaven forfend you don't want to burn or boil in the sun or get a tan.

Getting a parasol in England is relatively simple, if you don't want to use eBay or Amazon then visit your local bridal shop as Lisabeth Dahl is usually in stock there.

Lisbeth Dahl is a Danish designer of home goods and other accessories. The brand mostly stocks bridal shops in the UK, or at least that's only where I've seen them.

PROS

• Large enough to cover a good amount of your body from rain or sun.
• The colour is extremely versatile with any co-ord and also reflects the sun much better than a darker colour keeping you cooler.
• Automatic opening with a sturdy metal frame. Decent in windy environments.

CONS

• While blocking out the sun reasonably well I feel it would be better if the material was a bit thicker.
• Questionable craftsmanship, dark almost burnt area was uncovered once the ribbon had detached. It's nothing glue can't fix but this is something to look for.

While bigger than the normal parasol (probably because it's an umbrella...) it still only fits one person under it. 

The size itself is very useful and this looks far nicer than the average umbrella you see, if you even see one at all in the summer.

It's a decently made umbrella and cheap for what it really is. The only issues I had was the burn marks on the protective plastic on the handle. Being a relatively cheap item and having a minor issue that's easily fixed, I'm happy with what I got and I'm enjoying not looking like a lobster!

The fine details are what kind of makes it for me, like the LD logo on the clasp.

And the cute label it came with.

Overall I'm giving this a solid
8/10

Because I thoroughly enjoy using it and it's more than served it's purpose while looking amazing.

REVIEW: GEO Xtra WTA52 Blue

Today I'm going to be writing up my first lens review for a long time. The last one was lost with my old blog!

Well, I wanted to go for a more natural pattern/print but something that will noticeably change my eye colour and make my iris much bigger. The colour also fits in well with a lot of my cosplans too!

I bought these lenses from Uniqso, they're definitely a place I will be shopping again!

Comfort

These lenses aren't good for dry eyes like mine, for this I give them a 3 our of 5. You should ways carry eye drops regardless as I do and with eye drops these are able to be worn for a full 8 hours which is perfect for conventions and days out!
They are very easy to put in and take out but I wouldn't recommend these for a first time lens wearer due to the size of them. I can see if you are flinchy then they will fall out and cause problems for you. 

Enlargement

The enlargement on these lenses is great! I wasn't sure going from 14.8mm to 15mm would make much difference but it really, really does. For me these have the near-perfect enlargement and they're great for a subtle difference but it always makes people look twice.

Colour

I've always wanted vibrant Blue eyes and these lenses give me that ability! My eyes are naturally a dull Aqua/Grey which is a common colour among Caucasian people so finding a lens that changes my eye colour while still looking natural is fantastic.
The pattern is very subtle and blends really well into light eyes, so for my readers with light eyes this is a pair of lenses I recommend to you!

The service I received from Uniqso was great! Exactly how a company SHOULD be run.
I was given a confirmation of my order being received, payment being received and when my package was shipped which was the next day!
I was told my package should arrive within 3 weeks and 2 weeks later it was here. So if you are planning on ordering in time for a specific date then either contact them or order about a month in advance.

REVIEW: Sims 3: Supernatural Expansion

This is my first game review so bare with me ^-^"

I decided to review the most recent expansion of The Sims 3 that I acquired, Supernatural!

I wanted this purely because I knew it had Fairies and Vampires, my two favourite mythical races :3!

Pros:

- Allows you to create sims in new races including: Werewolves, Ghosts, Witches, Fairies, Vampires and Genies.

- Like with the other expansion packs, you get a whole new town.

- New career options including Alchemy and Fortune Telling.

- New cosmetic options. 

Cons:

- Zombies serve no real purpose and are mostly an annoyance rather than a fun addition.

- Lunar cycle messes up on a regular basis.

- Confessing to being a Vampire appears to impair you on the social side with humans.

- Hunting is almost impossible...for me at least. 

Game Play

7/10

If you're really into the extra races then the game play is pretty good. As far as expansion packs go it's quite a nice change from the usual human needs. Though the only race that really differs is the Vampire in a sense that you can't go out in daylight and if you choose the immortality "add-on" thing then you end up sparkling in the sunlight, dammit EA.

You do get some different perks to the game of course, like riding a broom in place of a car if you're a witch, you now have two more career options like Alchemy and Fortune Telling and like with the other expansions you get a good amount of new hair styles, clothes, 12 new skin tones etc;

Fairies

  The sparkliest race, fairies also have a magical meter for different uses though the only use I've found far is for playing pranks of other people.

They have a variety of different wing styles which of course is customisable, and actually I really like that because I'm a sucker for all things sparkly and pretty.

I made these guys just as a quick preview. I like everything to be matchy-matchy in case you didn't notice.

Oh yeah you also get some neat little pixie clothes too.

Ghosts 

Clue is in the title, you get to play as a ghost. I think this race has the most "background" options in the fact you can choose the colour of your ghost by how it died.

So we have (from left top to bottom right)

Old Age - Drowned - Starvation

Electrocution - Burned - Mummy's Curse

Meteor - Watery Grave - Human Statue

Transmuted - Haunting Curse - Jelly Bean Death 

I didn't include "Watery Grave" because it's the same as "Drowned".

There is little to no advantage of being a Ghost, except your sims voice sounds creepy and you float rather than walk, which is pretty awesome.

Witches

Witches are probably the race you want to choose if you're somewhat of a Harry Potter fan. You can do the usual flying on broomsticks (either in a broomstick arena or in place of a car) and they're generally better at things like Alchemy and spell casting.

Werewolves

If you want to add an oversized dog to your house, then choosing a werewolf is probably a good idea. They scratch things up just the same however they aren't completely useless in the fact that they are able to go hunting solo and with time they get really good at this and frequently find some interesting and rare items.

Vampires

Vampires are a personal favourite, and weren't a disappointment to me. Since The Sims 3 is basically the ultimate life simulator, it seems to have got the lifestyle of a vampire down pretty well!

You can't go out in the sunlight and your prime source of sustenance is from feeding from humans or drinking  plasma juice from the fridge.

You do die easier while being a vampire though, or that's probably just me since they seem to have the incapability to actually feed themselves.

Sound

8/10

There is new music since there is a new town and like with the other expansions it's quite fitting.
The sound effects for the new creatures like the Zombies are pretty cool too.

Overall

7/10

Overall it's a neat expansion with some cool perks. It would only appeal to those in the supernatural fandom of course since players who have no interest in things like the lunar cycles and Zombies probably should avoid this particular expansion. Even though you can turn them off it kind of makes the whole point of buying Supernatural pointless.

Packaging

The packaging was really nice and secure and was really nicely presented, the box is really well made and it's very easy to repackage the headset into it's original "factory" state.

The inner-box packaging is the standard plastic but it's also got a furry feel (almost like suede but fuzzier). I'm giving the packaging a 4 out of 5 just because the suede/fuzzy inner packaging sheds a little bit so I had to wipe down the headset with a wet wipe. No trouble but at first I thought it had black marks all over it >.<"

Comfort

The comfort on these are absolutely faultless! I think I've found a headset that I can actually take a nap in ^-^

They have a suspension-like headband that fully self adjusts to the wearers head and the ear cup is big enough for the biggest ears and extremely well padded so ideal for long gaming sessions, or just long wear sessions.

They completely cover my ears (which are quite big >.<) 

 You can also see here how the suspension-like headband caters to my head perfectly (again I have a huge head).

 Style

I can't express enough how much I love the look of these. To the point where I'm going to use them on my iPod and add a touch of pink to all of my outfits (the ear pads will surely keep my ears warm too!)

Usually I don't like pink with black on any items, but I absolutely love the pale/baby pink with the jet black padding. Finally a Pink and Black item that doesn't look tacky!

The concept of the invisible microphone is really handy too. The microphone is completely retractable and is really versatile to fitting everyone since it's fully adjustable, I think this headset was designed with the intention to adjust to everyone.

Fitting my head quite well! As I say, it really does fit all shapes and sizes.

 Sound

The sound on this headset is so clear and absolutely perfect for co-op gaming and live streams, it's equally really good for Skype and IM calls.

Listening to music through them is definitely an experience ^-^ It has amazing surround sound qualities and it just possess a great feel all round!

 Pricing

From the SteelSeries site, this headset is £64.99 which in my opinion is a brilliant price. I've spent £80+ on headsets made from cheap looking plastic that have nowhere near as much quality as this headset.

It has absolutely everything I personally need in a headset, clear sound quality, phone/iPod compatible, pink! and so comfortable I could easily sleep in it ^-^
